팝(pop)하지만 딥(deep)한 음악, 핍(peep)을 추구하는 ‘권유 (gwon.u)’는 오권호(기타/보컬), 김민기(드럼), 신효정(기타), 이재학(베이스)로 구성된 밴드이다. 그들은 뜻 없이 흥얼거리던 노래가 인생에 훅 들어오는 순간처럼 마음이 깊이 적셔지는 순간을 음악을 통해 전달하고자 한다.
**2018년 10월 싱글[Home Sweet Home]로 을지로 감성의 포문을 열며 인디 씬에 등장한 그들이 2023년 5월 발매한 EP[Spotting]은 일본의 일러스트레이터 ‘타나카 미사키’와 협업을 통해 ‘싱싱한 죄책감’을 더욱 뚜렷하게 표현했다.
현재 권유는 베이시스트 재학의 치열한 생계유지로 인해 대부분의 공연을 버츄얼 베이시스트로 대체하여 활동하고 있다. 대체 불가능을 정면 돌파하여 완전체를 꿈꾸는 그들의 모습에서 ‘권유(gwon.u)’의 음악과 열정은 변함이 없음을 느낄 수 있다.
The band ‘Gwon.u’ is a South Korean indie rock/alt band. The band’s current lineup consists of vocalist O Gwon-ho, guitarist Sin Hyo-jung, bassist I Jae-hak, and drummer Gim Min-gi. The band presents various styles of music with lyrics about ordinary life through catchy melodies.
Since the band’s debut with the first single "Home Sweet Home" in 2018, ‘Gwon.u’ has musically grown up through continued gigs and album releases, resulting favorable reviews from many people regardless of genres.
The Band is showing their first appearance as a four-membered band through the 2023 EP "Spotting," revealing a fresh taste that is different from their earlier records.
